(Galaxy Bakery, DIVA) - Marcy · Schedule date a week in advance and confirm photographer and make sure photos are posted on city website and FB pages · Invite all board and committee members to attend · Goal 3: Promoting Downtown’s Image as a Signature Destination a) Promote and support downtown as a Cultural District by using the arts as E.D. – Bill/Julie · Partner with CVB, HARC and Arts & Culture Boards to visit successful downtowns to gain new ideas: (Denton visit, rescheduled to January 30-31) - Cheryl/Vicki · Meet and plan with SU and GISD Fine Arts programs to promote student involvement and performance in downtown. Dr. Gaffney (SU) Fine Arts students – Jim, Marcy, Julie, Bill · Compile a database of local musicians - Bob b) Encourage and promote Georgetown as a College Town – Jim/Marcy · Attend bi-monthly College Town Committee meetings to continue partnerships - January 22, 3 PM, Dan Rather Room · Publicize special events and marketing opportunities at SU via social media and Block Captain visits (175th Anniversary festivities, temporary holiday housing of international students) · Communicate with downtown businesses regarding special SU event dates and marketing opportunities.
