Discussion on selected 2014-15 Strategic Action Plan Items

· Goal 1: Attracting & Retaining a Healthy Business Mix
a) Acknowledge contributions made by downtown businesses promoting Georgetown
· Presenting Main Street Star Awards at quarterly Breakfast Bites or Downtown Low Down
meetings – as needed
· Goal 2: Raising Awareness and Funding for Main Street Program Projects
a) Increase awareness of Small Business Saturday and funding for downtown lighting through
annual Ladies Nite Out to raise $5,000 – set volunteer appreciation event with Swirl
b) Increase funding for the Façade & Sign Grant Program through the annual Georgetown Swirl to
raise $20,000 – Cindy/Vicki
· Update from contract fundraiser and report sponsorship levels to raise $10,000 in sponsorships -

· Report on Wine Auction tickets; Solicit donations for the wine auction (200 bottles, 8 prizes,
1250 tickets) – Jim/Mickie
· Discuss Honorary Chairperson(s) – Cindy/Vicki
· Discuss décor for rotunda and new mayoral welcome ceremony – Cindy/Vicki
· Coordinate graphics, advertising, wine glasses, ticket sales (550) and printing of light pole

· Start recruiting participating local restaurants – Cindy

a) Use consistent image and message with marketing downtown

DGA, Chamber, GAW, SU, GHS, Palace, Williamson Museum – Jim/Shelly
· Explore and produce cooperative advertising and PR opportunities in print, radio, video and
online – Shelly
b) Attract locals and visitors to downtown
· Promote events on social media sites, in free monthly publications and free online event listings;
choose coordinator – Vicki/Molly
· Encourage board and committee members to like and share downtown and FB posts on their
personal social media pages - Marcy
· Partner with realtors, SU, Wolf Ranch, Sun City and others to cross-promote downtown when
possible
