ITEM SUMMARY:
Goal 1: Attracting and retaining a healthy business mix
A. Host Quarterly Breakfast Bites (Marcy/Jim): Review of the program held on March 19 for the X-
Games and discuss possible program topics for the year.
B. Maintain contact with existing businesses to address their needs and concerns (All): Updates from
Committee.
C. Update Downtown business property owner database (Vicki): Feedback from flash drive info and
tentative plan; Downtown Diva, in particular.
D. Promote local businesses through social media, print, videos and other events (Marcy/Jim): Activity
through video clips and discussion of “cash mob” plans.
E. Update Strategic Action Plan and report to Committee
Goal 2: Raise awareness and funding for Georgetown Main Street Projects.
A. Partner with CVB and Arts & Culture Board to visit with successful downtowns that use arts as an
economic development tool (All) Granbury trip summary.
B. Encourage partnerships with Southwestern University and GISD Fine Arts program (Julie/Bill):
Discuss plans with GISD meeting.
C. Promote the Façade & Sign Grant Program (Marcy): Photo schedule for other businesses.
Goal 3: Promote downtown's image as a Signature Destination
A. Attend bi-monthly College Town Committee meetings as Southwestern University (Jim/Bob): Next
meeting date.
B. Encourage business partnerships with Southwestern to promote student and staff involvement in
downtown (Jim): Next Campus tour schedule.
C. Promote sales of licensed Southwestern University merchandise
through (LRG)/Pirate Card Program (Jim): Current plans.
