The Main Street Advisory Board met on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, 927
Main Street, Bastrop, TX 78602.
The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you require

Trisha Tallman called the meeting to order at 9:22 AM. Board members in attendance were, T. Tallman, A. Adams, K.
Hill, D. Gaume, K. Curry and S. Rodocker. Staff in attendance, Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager.

(This regular session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by
the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551.)

B. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the June 12, 2018 board meeting minutes – Trisha

Motion by K. Curry to approve the minutes as presented. Second by D. Gaume.
Approved: 6-0
Adjourn
Motion by K. Curry, second by K. Hill to adjourn the meeting. T. Tallman adjourned the meeting at 9:25 AM.

A. Call to order – Trisha Tallman, Board Vice-Chair
B. Welcome & Overview of downtown from Bastrop Main Street Program
C. Discussion and possible action for the Georgetown Main Street Annual Retreat & Site Visit
1. The board reviewed the current vision and mission statement for the Main Street Program. A revision was
made to the mission statement. The new mission statement will read: “Georgetown Main Street Program
is a preservation driven, economic development organization. We promote diverse community
engagement to create a destination downtown for everyone”.
Motion by A. Adams to approve the revised mission statement. Second by S. Rodocker.
Approved: 6-0
2. The board reviewed and discussed the 2017-2018 accomplishments.
3. The board reviewed the Transformation Strategies.
4. Staff gave the board an update on the Façade & Sign Grant Program. After accounting reconciled the
funds for the account, an additional $84,779 will be available for the grant account. This will be part of a
mid-year budget amendment that goes to council for review and approval. The board asked that this topic
be added to the July meeting agenda for further discussion.
5. The board reviewed and discussed the project teams and block captain program. Each board member
has committed to help with a project team and serve as a block captain as part of the business retention
and expansion program. This item will be discussed further at the July meeting.
6. The board reviewed the Work Plan for each project team as based on the Four Point Approach of the
Main Street Program. Board members are responsible for designated projects which reflect a tie back to
one of the two transformational strategies. The work plan also includes project deadlines, budget, and
measurable outcomes.

Motion by S. Rodocker, second by K. Curry to adjourn the meeting. T. Tallman adjourned the meeting at 11:45 AM.

ITEM SUMMARY:
Geo rgeto wn’s 2030 C o mp rehens ive Plan, adopted in 2008, provid es long-range guidance fo r the
community’s develo p ment and c harac ter. All c omprehensive plans mus t be updated periodic ally to remain
useful to the c o mmunity. T his 2030 Plan Up d ate is intend ed to address the fo llo wing:

To engage the community and c o llec t meaningful input that will guide the up d ated p lan’s
rec o mmendatio ns;
To examine recent p o p ulatio n gro wth and d emo graphic s hifts , whic h can c hange a
c o mmunity’s need s and priorities ;
To c o ns ider recent d evelopments or o p p o rtunities that may not have b een kno wn during the
previo us p lan p ro cess; and
To reflec t the progres s that the C ity has made s inc e the 2030 Comprehensive P lan was
originally adopted .
This update is no t intended to rewrite the entire 2030 P lan; ins tead it is intended to update c ritic al elements
that no lo nger reflec t the community’s circ ums tances o r go als , o r to introduc e new elements into the Plan’s
s cope, such as inc orporating a hous ing needs as s es s ment and targeted hous ing rec o mmendatio ns.
