The Main Street Advisory Board met on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Georgetown City Hall, Community
Room, 808 Martin Luther King St.
The City of Georgetown is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you require

Trisha Tallman called the meeting to order at 9:03 AM. T. Tallman, D. Gaume, S. Rodocker, C. Tomasewski and K.
Curry were in attendance. K. Hill and A. Adams were absent.
No guests in attendance.
Staff in attendance, Kim McAuliffe, Downtown Development Manager.

A. Call to order at 9:03 a.m.
B. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the June 4, 2019 board meeting minutes – Trisha
Tallman, Board Chair
Motion by K. Curry to approve the minutes as presented. Second by C. Tomasewski
Approved: 4-0
Diane Gaume entered the meeting at 9:06 a.m.
C. Discussion and possible action on a façade grant request for 117 E. 7th Street – Kim McAuliffe, Downtown
Development Manager
Motion by S. Rodocker to approve the grant in the amount of $10,000 as determined through the scoring
process. Second by K. Curry
Approved: 5-0
D. Project Team, Block Captains for BR&E, & Partner Updates
K. Curry reported on the past Breakfast Bites event that featured Britin Bostick presenting “Georgetown: Then
& Now” the presentation has garnered encore presentations since then. The next Breakfast Bites program will
be on September 11 and Judy Lester will present.
D. Gaume reported on the fundraising team’s activities. The next fundraiser will include Holiday greeting cards
created by local artists collected through a call for art. She and staff have been working on the application and
guidelines to be able to send out to interested artists. The ornament is also in the works and they hope to have
a design draft back soon.
K. Curry reported on the Blazin’ Beer Crawl event planning. The project team met in June to make some
decisions related to marketing and promotions. They will meet again in July to finalize a few things before the
event on August 3.
Staff reported on the Shop Small – Small Business Saturday event. The theme will remain the same, the
graphics have been updated to reflect this year’s dates. The next meeting will be in September.

T. Tallman reported on the most recent BRE visit with All Things New. The business recently relocated and is
finalizing the transition and permits through the city. The owner was very appreciative for the visit. The next
BRE will be with Artisans Connect in July.
E. Staff Report
Staff reported on the façade grant budget and total remaining in the fund. The year started with $123,406. At
this time, $35,980 has been awarded and paid, leaving the balance at $87,426 for the remainder of the fiscal
year. The attendance of the board has been great, staff thanked everyone for their dedication to the city. A
recap of the Main Street Star Award was given. Linda McCalla was awarded at the June Main Street Reunion
event and she seemed surprised by the recognition.
New developments in downtown include construction of the Watkins building, Barrels & Amps, 600 Market
Place, and Lark & Owl Bistro. Blue Corn Harvest is working on their expansion and hope to be complete by the
end of summer. Building permits for new business Wag Heaven were issued, and a Pre-App scheduled for
Salado Glassworks is scheduled for next week.
Upcoming events include second Saturday Market Days and the Blazin’ Beer Crawl.
Upcoming Downtown Partner meetings include DGA Meeting on Friday, July 19 at 8:45, Arts & Culture Board
Meeting on Tuesday, July 16 at 4:30, and the CVB Board Meeting on Thursday, August 8 at 8:30 a.m.

Motion by D. Gaume to adjourn the meeting. Second by K. Curry T. Tallman adjourned the meeting at 10:00 AM.
