The event went well and sold out in it’s first year raising $11,655 for the Façade and Sign Grant Program. Feedback from the survey was discussed, and additional suggestions made for next year include: listing the types of beer on the program or in advance so people didn’t have to wait in line for a beer they may not like, and keeping the event in August to serve as a boost to downtown business during a slower time of year. Staff reported on the Shop Small – Small Business Saturday event. The theme will remain the same, the graphics have been updated to reflect this year’s dates. The next meeting will be in September. D. Gaume told the board that businesses that sign up early have an opportunity for free advertising courtesy of American Express to promote themselves before the event. D. Gaume and staff reported on the BRE at Artisans Connect. One of the suggestions from the visit is already being implemented and we hope to see positive results come from that in the future.
