· Goal 1: Attracting & Retaining a Healthy Business Mix
a) Acknowledge contributions made by downtown businesses promoting Georgetown
· Presenting Main Street Star Awards at quarterly Breakfast Bites or Downtown Low Down
meetings – as needed; report on Board decision/vote
· Report from Board on next awardee of Main Street Star Award - Cindy
b) Promote events to potential downtown businesses
· Review targeted list of businesses from survey for downtown and determine opportunities with
current downtown events – Kylie/Shelly
· Discuss and resolve: Research national/international weird/unique dates to help spread the word
on social media of ways current businesses can promote themselves, i.e. Talk like a Pirate Day –
Friday, Sept. 19; Marketing at Breakfast Bites – possibly being done by another group in
Georgetown - Kay/Marcy
· Goal 2: Raising Awareness and Funding for Main Street Program Projects
a) Increase awareness of Small Business Saturday and funding for downtown lighting through
annual Ladies Night Out to raise $5,000, Nov. 20, 2014
· Set deadlines and update progress – Janice/Kay
· Theme (A Winter White Nite), graphics and décor – Janice/Kay/Vicki/Shelly
· Recruit sponsors; updated Sponsorship paperwork - Janice
· Select volunteer coordinator – Danielle Harris
· Recruit and finalize downtown host businesses (shopping, services and attractions) by Oct. 24;
updated Retail Participation paperwork – Janice/Kylie/Rhonda

· Solicit giveaways for 350 swag bags/VIP bags - Janice

· Research fundraising methods of other downtowns, i.e. VIP level
· Review top choices and incorporate into current events
· Goal 3: Promoting Downtown’s Image as a Signature Destination
a) Use consistent image and message with marketing downtown
· Communicate with downtown organization liaisons/chairs the tourism study findings including
CVB, Chamber, GAW, SU, GHS, Palace, Williamson Museum and DGA – Jim/Shelly
· Explore and produce cooperative advertising and PR opportunities in print, radio, video and
online – Cindy/Shelly – September’s Sunday Funday campaign
b) Attract locals and visitors to downtown
· Promote events on social media sites, in free monthly publications and free online event listings -

· Encourage board and committee members to like and share downtown and FB posts on their
personal social media pages - Marcy
Partner with realtors, SU, Wolf Ranch Sun City and others to cross-promote downtown when
possible
