The meeting was held at the City of Georgetown Planning Department's Conference Room and broadcast virtually at the below address: https://bit.ly/3iNNsMm Or Telephone: Call-in number Toll-Free: +13462487799,,98035608935#,,,,*984844# US (Houston) Steering Committee Members Present: Carlos Bustillos, Ron Swain, Joyce Gadison, Paulette Taylor, Norma Clark and Chasity Hattley via Zoom. Staff Present: Cesar Acosta, Long Range Planner, and Susan Watkins, Neighborhood & Housing Program Manager Consultants Present: Carter Coleman and Grace Barrett, APD Urban Planning and Management via Zoom Vice-Chair Carlos Bustillos called the meeting to order. Public Wishing to Address the Board A. At the time of posting, no persons had signed up to address the Board. Legislative Regular Agenda B. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the May 4, 2021, regular meeting of the TRG Neighborhood Plan Steering Committee. Susan Watkins, Neighborhood & Housing Program Manager Minutes should be amended to state that there were three APD staffers and Stephanie McNickle were present. Motion to approve with edits by Ron Swain, Second by Paulette Taylor. Minutes were approved 5-0. Page 4 of 8 TRG Steering Committee Minutes Page 2 of 3 June 24, 2021 C. Consideration and possible action to approve the minutes from the June 14, 2021, regular meeting of the TRG Neighborhood Plan Steering Committee. Susan Watkins, Neighborhood & Housing Program Manager Minutes should state the meeting was held virtually and not at the library. A joint steering committee meeting with San Jose was requested. Motion to approve with edits by Joyce Gadison, Second by Paulette Taylor. Minutes were approved 5-0. D. Presentation and discussion of Community Meeting materials. Carter Coleman, APD Urban Planning. a) Carter Coleman provided an overview of the initial findings for the consultant's first visit to Georgetown and through data gathering. a. Various edits were requested to the presentation, including photo and name changes b) APD explained the five interactive stations that will be completed during the first public meeting for TRG a. Station 1: Vision i. Adding key features on the map was suggested ii. Adding definitions to the vision cards was suggested iii. Change out some of the stock photos for photos of the community b. Station 2: History i. Concern that some new members of the community might not have a history to share with the community 1. The consultant responded that it does not have to "historic location" but a place that has a personal history to them c. Station 3: Transportation i. No comment d. Station 4: Housing Concerns, Housing and Commercial Typologies i. Concern around commercial images and where the commercial would be located in the neighborhood ii. Changes around imagery were suggested e. Station 5: Public Investment i. No comment c) Providing input if you can't attend the public meeting? a. Updates on city projects near the TRG neighborhood. More updates are forthcoming. S us an Watkins , Neighborhood & Housing P rogram Manager IT E M S UMMARY: National Night O ut - National Night O ut will be held on Tuesday, O ctober 5th, 2021, from 6 pm to 9 pm. T he G eorgetown P olic e Department is acc epting registration forms from those neighborhoods hos ting a party that would like the G eorgetown P olic e Department to participate. R egistration for the event will c los e S eptember 16th, 2021 at midnight. More information is located at https ://pd.georgetown.org/national-night- out-2/ Hear the res ults of public feedbac k about the G eorgetown P arks and R ecreation Master P lan in a public forum at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, in the C ounc il C hambers , 510 W. Ninth S t. R es idents may also partic ipate virtually via Zoom. T he pres entation will include results from the mailed and open surveys , data collec tion from facility and park inventories , and other projec t analys is . P artic ipants will have the opportunity to as k questions during a ques tion-and-ans wer s es s ion at the end of the event.
