A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE ELECTION RETURNS
AND DECLARING THE ELECTION RESULTS OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN GENERAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER
3, 2020 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTION THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL MEMBERS FOR DISTRICTS 2 AND 6.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas ordered a general election to be held
on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 pursuant Resolution No. 081120-C, for the purpose of electing a
Mayor and Councilmembers for Districts 2 and 6;
WHEREAS, on November 3, 2020, an election was held on the following:
To elect the Mayor and a Councilmember from the City of Georgetown Single-
member District 2; and to elect a Councilmember from the City of Georgetown
Single-member District 6; and
WHEREAS, the election officers who held said election have prepared the returns of the results
thereof, and the returns have been delivered to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the official canvass of the returns of the election showed the following results:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION I. All of the findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are found to be
true and adopted as findings of fact.
SECTION II. The City Council officially finds and determines that the election was duly called;
that proper notice of the election was given in accordance with law; that the election was held in
accordance with law; that returns of the results of the election have been made and delivered, and
that the City Council has canvassed the returns, all in accordance with the law and the resolution
calling the election.
SECTION III. The official canvass of the returns, duly and legally made, reflects the following:
1. Josh Schroeder was duly-elected as Mayor.
2. Rachael Jonrowe was duly elected as Councilmember, District 6.
3. A runoff election is required to determine who is elected as the Councilmember for the
City of Georgetown, District 2.
SECTION IV. Therefore, the Councilmembers shall be as follows:

SECTION V. It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of this
governing body, the City Secretary posted written notice of the date, place and subject of this
meeting on the bulletin board located outside of City Hall, a place convenient and readily accessible
to the general public, and said notice was posted and remained posted continuously for at least 72
hours preceding the scheduled time of the meeting. A copy of the posting shall be attached to the
minutes of this meeting and shall be made a part thereof for all intents and purposes.

RESOLUTION NO. ______________________
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, ORDERING A RUNOFF ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE
OF COUNCILMEMBER FOR DISTRICT 2 FOR THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY,
DECEMBER 15, 2020.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Georgetown,
Texas, a special election to fill a vacancy was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, for the purposes of
electing:
One (1) Member of the Georgetown City Council from Single-Member District 2
WHEREAS, in the contest for the position of Councilmember for District 2, no one candidate
received a majority of the votes cast in the special election to fill a vacancy; and election results were
canvassed on November 17, 2020.
WHEREAS, as provided in the City Charter Section 3.04, in the event that no candidate can be
declared the winner by majority, a runoff election shall be held not earlier than twenty (20) days nor later
than thirty (30) days after the date of the final canvass of the main election.
WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Georgetown, Texas
provide that a resolution may be passed establishing the special election procedure and designating the
voting places for said election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. VERIFICATION OF FACTS
The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and
declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a
part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION 2. CONFORMANCE WITH THE 2030 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
The City Council has found that this action implements elements of The Citizen Participation
Plan regarding “voting in municipal elections,” and has found that this action is not
inconsistent or in conflict with any other 2030 Plan Policies
SECTION 3. CANDIDATES
In such runoff election, the two candidates who received, in the preceding election, the
highest number of votes for the office of Councilmember for District 2, shall be voted on
again, and the candidate who receives the majority of the votes cast for Councilmember for
District 2 in the runoff election shall be elected to such office.

SECTION 4. BALLOTS
Voting shall be conducted with ballots prepared in conformity with the Texas Election Code.
SECTION 5. EARLY VOTING
Williamson County Elections Administrator, Chris Davis, shall be the Early Voting Clerk.
In this runoff election, early voting by personal appearance shall take place at the following
voting locations:
Georgetown City Hall - 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St., Georgetown, TX
McNeil High School – Hartfield Performing Arts Center, 5800 McNeil Dr., Austin, TX
Anderson Mill Limited – 11500 El Salido Parkway, Austin, TX
The times and dates for early voting are as follows:
Thursday, December 3rd, 2020 and Friday, December 4th, 2020 from 7am-7pm,
Saturday, December 5th, 2020 from 8am-2pm,
and Monday, December 7th, 2020 through Friday, December 10th, 2020 from 8am-6pm
SECTION 6. RUNOFF ELECTION DAY VOTING
Runoff Election Day voting on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 from 7am-7pm, shall take place
at the following locations for voters residing in the City of Georgetown Single-Member
District 2:
Georgetown City Hall - 808 Martin Luther King Jr. St., Georgetown, TX
First Baptist Church-Georgetown - 1333 W. University Ave., Georgetown, TX
McNeil High School–Hartfield Performing Arts Center - 5800 McNeil Dr., Austin, TX
Anderson Mill Limited – 11500 El Salido Parkway, Austin, TX
Pinballz Lake Creek – 13729 N. US 183 Hwy, Austin, TX
Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex – 10211 W. Parmer Lane, Austin, TX
SECTION 7. RESULTS
An unofficial tabulation of results will be provided by the Williamson County Elections
Administrator. The official canvass and tabulation of the results of the election shall be
conducted by the City Council not later than the first regular meeting following the delivery
of the returns to the Mayor pursuant to City Charter Section 3.04.
SECTION 8. EFFECTIVENESS OF RESOLUTION
This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
