Presentation and possible direction to staff on design options for City websites -- Laurie Brewer, Assistant
City Manager and Keith Hutchinson, Public Communications Manager
ITEM SUMMARY:
City staff and representatives from Steel Branding will present design options for the redesign of City
websites. Design options are based on research conducted in the assessment phase of the website redesign
project that began in August 2014.
Background: Steel Branding was selected to work with the City on the website assessment and redesign
process after a proposal selection process earlier this year. The City Council approved the selection of Steel
Branding at the July 22, 2014 meeting. The 2013/2014 City budget included $100,000 for the assessment and
redesign project.
After receiving input from the City Council on website design options, public input will be collected on
website design options. Selection of website design option should be made in December 2014. Steel
Branding will be providing the City with website design templates as well as related reports and design
standards in early 2015. The City webmaster will use the design templates to work with City departments on
the redesign implementation of the new City website in early 2015.
