WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas ordered a runoff election to be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 pursuant Resolution No. 111720-C, for the purpose of electing a Councilmember for Districts 2; WHEREAS, on December 15, 2020, an election was held on the following: To elect a Councilmember from the City of Georgetown Single-member District 2; and WHEREAS, the election officers who held said election have prepared the returns of the results thereof, and the returns have been delivered to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the official canvass of the returns of the election showed the following results: FOR COUNCILMEMBER DISTRICT 2 Lisa King 452 34.19% Shawn F. Hood 870 65.81% TOTAL VOTES 1,322 100.00% NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN TEXAS, THAT: SECTION I. All of the findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are found to be true and adopted as findings of fact. SECTION II. The City Council officially finds and determines that the election was duly called; that proper notice of the election was given in accordance with law; that the election was held in accordance with law; that returns of the results of the election have been made and delivered, and that the City Council has canvassed the returns, all in accordance with the law and the resolution calling the election.
