The 2011 proposed tax rate of $0.38750 exceeds the effective rate of $0.36901 by 5%. The increase is attributed to additional debt service related to bond funded projects approved by the voters in November 2008. An overview of the tax calculation and related General Fund revenue and expenditure information will be provided at the August 9 workshop. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS These public hearings fulfill all the legal requirements for adoption of the City’s 2011 tax rate scheduled for the Council meeting on August 23,2011.
