HomeMy WebLinkAboutJim Briggs Proclamation_03.2015 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Jim Briggs has been named a 2014 Person of the Year by the Williamson County Sun; and WHEREAS, Jim is currently serving as the Interim City Manager for the City of Georgetown, while continuing to serve as the General Manager of Utilities; and WHEREAS, Jim Briggs has helmed the City’s utility systems for almost 30 years, focusing on long- range strategic planning for the volatile growth market that is Williamson County and has earned respect at the state level for his expertise and vision and is a well-respected voice in the community; and WHEREAS, in the year 2014 alone, Jim Briggs spearheaded the merger between the City of Georgetown and the Chisholm Trail Special Utility District, the largest of its kind in Texas history, and helped settle the power agreement dispute with the Lower Colorado River Authority; and WHEREAS, over the past 30 years, Jim Briggs has served as a representative to state and regional utility planning boards, as well as Chairman of the Central Texas Water Planning efforts for the Trans-Texas Water Plan; and WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Georgetown and its ETJ benefit from Jim’s responsiveness, helpfulness, knowledge, experience and expertise; and NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby honor and thank JIM BRIGGS In Georgetown, Texas
