HomeMy WebLinkAboutNational Hospice Month_11.2015 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, hospice services provide for an individual’s medical and social needs through compassionate care complete with love, comfort and support at the end of life; and WHEREAS, according to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, hospice agencies provided medical and social needs to more than 1.5 million patients annually; and WHEREAS, hospice services enable our community’s citizens to receive quality medical and social services in their own home, surrounded by family and friends; and WHEREAS, hospice services strengthen the family bond and support families as they care for their loved ones at home, lessening caregiver burnout and unnecessary placement in more costly institutional settings; and WHEREAS, hospice services build upon a strong tradition of care and compassion, striving to keep families together while preserving an individual’s independence and dignity in the setting of their choice. NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby proclaim the month of November, 2015 as: NATIONAL HOSPICE MONTH In Georgetown, Texas
