WHEREAS, the mission of the Georgetown Vacation Liberty School is to develop the next
generation of patriots, educating them on the values, the principles and the Judeo-Christian
Foundation on which our country was created and to instill in them the need to be diligent in
keeping our God Given Freedoms and Liberties; and
WHEREAS, in 2011, a small group of dedicated citizens, solely sponsored by donations and
volunteer hours, began researching and planning for a program to teach children today what they
may not be learning in public schools – that America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles
and that our Founding Fathers were truly courageous and brilliant men. The first session started in
2012 with 20 children; today, they are presenting three sessions with enrollments of 30 each and
already have a waiting list. Their goals are to educate, enlighten and excite these 7 to 12-year-old
future leaders about the ideas and liberties on which America was founded and are always looking
for new ideas and ways to expand the program; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the increased enrollment, other measures of success that they are
seeing already, and are very excited about, is that several student graduates have returned to
become volunteer helpers and leaders and are working with citizens outside the area who are
interested in building their own vacation liberty school programs; and
WHEREAS, when these students have finished the week of games, discussions,
presentations, skits, songs and just plain fun, they will be proud to be American Patriots who know
the benefits of liberty and freedom.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, do
hereby proclaim the week of July 13th through July 17th, 2015 as
VACATION LIBERTY SCHOOL WEEK
