PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Adrian Vidaurri earned 33 Merit Badges, has served three Boy Scout Troops in
increasing positions of leadership responsibility – including Senior Patrol Leader, earned a Polar Bear Award,
earned the SCUBA BSA Award, and was elected by his peers into the BSA Order of the Arrow Scouting
National Honor Society Tonkawa 99 Lodge; and
WHEREAS, through his Boy Scout training, Adrian Vidaurri has performed over 300 community
service hours, spent 98 nights camping, hiked over 35 miles, and spent one high adventure week winter
camping and snow skiing at the Philmont Scout Ranch Winter Adventure (several of these nights were spent
camping in snow shelters at 9000 feet altitude in temperatures as low as negative 14 degrees); and
WHEREAS, Adrian Vidaurri conceptualized, planned, and executed leadership to a team of 25
Scouts, volunteer adults, and volunteer high School students in carrying out an Eagle Scout Service Project
during spring break week 2016, performing over 700 volunteer service hours demolishing the outdated
Georgetown High School Band Shed and building a new, larger shed that will benefit the Georgetown High
School Band and Georgetown, Texas community for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, Adrian Vidaurri has achieved the Rank of Eagle Scout.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, do hereby proclaim August 11, 2016 as
EAGLE SCOUT ADRIAN VIDAURRI DAY
