P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, the health of all the people in Williamson County is linked to the health of
people throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, the month of August has been established as National Breastfeeding Month;
and
WHEREAS, the Williamson County and Cities Health District’s Women, Infants and Children
(WIC) Program takes this occasion to educate, inform and encourage breastfeeding and regular
health care for mothers and babies; and
WHEREAS, the Williamson County and Cities Health District’s WIC Mission is focused on
improving the nutritional status of low and moderate income women, infants, and children by
providing foods and nutrition and breastfeeding education; and
WHEREAS, the WIC staff of the Williamson County and Cities Health District demonstrates
the highest quality of public service in serving families in Williamson County.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, do
hereby proclaim the month of August, 2017, as
NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING MONTH
in Georgetown, Texas, and urge all citizens to take part in recognizing the successes of healthy
mothers and healthy children, and encourage all people of Georgetown to support breastfeeding
mothers.
