HomeMy WebLinkAboutGeorgetown Chanukah Lighting_12.2016 P R O C L A M A T I O N WHEREAS, Chanukah is a celebration about a miracle; and WHEREAS, after the Jewish Temple was destroyed, one day’s worth of oil miraculously burned for eight days; and WHEREAS, as a community, we commemorate the belief in miracles, never giving up, and coming together; and WHEREAS, the community has appreciation for Georgetown’s commitment to preserve our history and embrace its’ diversity; and WHEREAS, Messiah Echad and the Messianic Jewish Community know that Georgetown offers one of the most beautiful, loving and safe places for people of all backgrounds to live together. NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby proclaim December 30, 2016 as MESSIAH ECHAD DAY
