HomeMy WebLinkAboutParks and Recreation Montn_02.2016 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, on December 4, 2015, Patricia Steuerwald experienced a serious medical disorder that resulted in cardiac arrest; and WHEREAS, advanced cardiac life support was provided by the Georgetown Fire/Medical Department within 4 minutes of the 911 call; and WHEREAS, Paramedic Twomey, Paramedic Proefrock, LT/Paramedic Vinton and Firefighter Reeves provided lifesaving treatment; and WHEREAS, keeping the Georgetown community healthy and promoting awareness of health issues, including heart disease, is an important responsibility and depends on the actions of many organizations and groups within our community; and WHEREAS, the Georgetown Fire Department encourages everyone to take action to protect their heart health and prevent heart disease by initiating steps to prevent and control their risk factors; and WHEREAS, the Georgetown Fire Department offers CPR training and encourages men, women and children to learn the lifesaving skills of CPR. NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby proclaim February as Heart Awareness Month and recognize Patricia Steuerwald as a cardiac arrest survivor and encourage all citizens to work together to promote and improve the health of our community.
