HomeMy WebLinkAboutTeen Court Proclamation_04.2016 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown Teen Court Program competed in a state-wide Mock Trial Competition on Saturday, April 2, 2016 in Southlake, Texas; and WHEREAS, Georgetown was represented by four teams and a total of twelve teen attorneys; Team 1: Ben Brody, Caroline Jones and Jacqueline Massey; Team 2: Sydney May, Ethan Skipper and Jackie Madden; Team 3: Keely Martinez, Kathryne Thomas and Philip Lloyd; Team 4: Kristina Neitsch, Bethany Wilson and Tyler Tidwell; and alternate teen attorney, Brent Whalen; and WHEREAS, all teams practiced for six weeks under the tutelage of coaches Robert May and Judge Randy Stump, spending over 30 hours with team coaches after school and countless hours in addition to their regular school work, Teen Court responsibilities and other extracurricular activities; and WHEREAS, Georgetown Team 1 won the State Mock Trial Competition for 2016, where each member received an individual first place award, along with an award presented to the Georgetown Teen Court Program, accepted by Tina Heine, the Georgetown Teen Court Coordinator on behalf of the program; and WHEREAS, the other three Georgetown Teen Court Program teams all finished in the top 10 of all teams in the competition. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is proud and honored to recognize all of these teams and their hard work and dedication to the Georgetown Teen Court Program. NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby proclaim April 2, 2016 as GEORGETOWN TEEN COURT DAY In Georgetown, Texas
