HomeMy WebLinkAboutFaith in Action_02.2017 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Faith in Action Georgetown consists of volunteers from sponsoring congregations and the greater Georgetown community who provide transportation and other support services to maintain and improve the quality of life of older adults in Georgetown; and WHEREAS, the assistance of these volunteers provided over 6,096 point to point rides and 433 support services to seniors in our community last year and allows them to maximize their abilities and live independently in their own homes; and WHEREAS, on December 12, 2016 the CAMPO Transportation Policy Board (TPB) selected the Faith in Action Georgetown Support for Mobility Management and Coordination Programs project to receive federal funding in the amount of $120,000; and WHEREAS, Faith in Action Georgetown will celebrate this great news with an open house and ribbon cutting on February 21, 2017; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown would like to congratulate Faith in Action Georgetown on this extraordinary recognition.
