WHEREAS, Grayson Forrest Francis earned 23 Merit Badges, has served Boy Scout Troop 27 and 155
in increasing positions of leadership responsibility – including Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Quarter Master,
Den Chief, and Historian.
WHEREAS, through his Boy Scout training, Grayson has performed over 88 community service
hours and spent 44 nights camping, which included 3 summer camps and the 2017 National Jamboree.
WHEREAS, Grayson conceptualized, planned, and successfully executed leadership to a team of 37
Scouts and adults in completing an Eagle Scout Service Project which included over 254 volunteer service
hours repairing flood damage at Grace Fellowship Church in Georgetown, TX.
WHEREAS, with the exceptional focus, dedication, and support of the village around him, standing
on the shoulders of others, Grayson achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, joining the elite population of only 6%
of eligible boys that achieve Eagle Scout, and accomplishing even a greater feat to earn this rank at age 13
when the national average is age 17.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, do hereby proclaim December 29, 2017 as
EAGLE SCOUT GRAYSON FORREST FRANCIS DAY
In Georgetown, Texas
