PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Dr. Dan Bonner has been bestowed the very prestigious title of Commissioner Emeritus;
and,
WHEREAS, Emeritus is an adjective used to designate an exceptional retired professor, pastor,
director, president or other leader, with a mark of distinguished service, denoting perpetual status for a key
member of an organization; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bonner served as the Chair of the Georgetown Aging Initiative which set the stage
for public policy initiatives for senior citizens throughout our community; and
WHEREAS, while contributing to the health, well-being and public policy decisions related to
Georgetown’s aging population, Dr. Bonner served as a Facilitator for the Courageous Conversations
Initiative, leading the way for these hallmark forums; and
WHEREAS, in addition to his contributions to the City of Georgetown, Dr. Bonner serves as the Vice
President for Development of Wesleyan Homes, where he designed and successfully implemented a $1.5
million capital campaign for Wesleyan Homes’ new continuum of care campus; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bonner’s contributions are felt throughout this community and are especially
noteworthy through his service to the Commission on Aging.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, do hereby proclaim October 23, 2018 as
DR. DAN BONNER COMMISSIONER EMERITUS DAY
