PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Engage, Enlighten and Empower is the mission that drives the Georgetown Library to
serve as a catalyst for community wellbeing and enrichment; and
WHEREAS, in 2018 the Georgetown Public Library was awarded the prestigious Institute of
Museum and Library Services National Medal, the highest honor to museums and libraries that make
significant and exceptional contributions to their communities; and
WHEREAS, Eric Lashley, the Director of the Georgetown Public Library is a devoted, compassionate
and intelligent leader and the citizens of our community benefit greatly from his talents, knowledge,
experience and expertise; and.
WHEREAS, the Texas Library Association’s Librarian of the Year Award is given to a Librarian who
has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and service within the library community over the past 12-18
months; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is proud to proclaim that Eric Lashley has been named the Texas
Library Association’s Librarian of the Year.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, do hereby proclaim, April 23, 2019 as
