PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Women Helping Others (WHO) which started as a group of nine women in 2010,
and is now a group of over 300 dedicated women helping many different charitable groups within
Georgetown, Williamson and Burnet Counties; and
WHEREAS, the mission of WHO is to support existing charitable organizations with time,
donations and assistance while fostering comradery, fellowship and inclusion by sponsoring
fundraisers, donating money, volunteering and spreading the word about non-profits; and
WHEREAS, WHO supports Meals-on-Wheels, the Caring Place, the Georgetown Nest and
Brookwood in Georgetown (BIG) along with many others, and has made donations to non-profits
in the community over the last ten years amounting to well over one million dollars, along with
donated goods, food and countless volunteer hours; and
WHEREAS, the WHO chartered organization believes and exemplifies the basic truth that those
who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more quickly
and easily because they travel on the thrust of one another’s efforts, and as a team of geese does,
they lift each other up and therefore lift and support the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
do hereby proclaim in October 2019
