PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Adeline Jansson is a 13-year-old, positive and cheerful girl attending
Benold Middle School and playing soccer for the GSA Force soccer team; and
WHEREAS, Adeline Jansson has leukemia and doctors diagnosed her with the rare
form of the blood cancer “acute lymphoblastic leukemia” in April 2020; and
WHEREAS, this community supports Adeline and her family by being encouraging
and compassionate as only Georgetown can be; and
WHEREAS, a cure exists for children with life-threatening blood cancers like Adeline’s,
but getting it takes a willingness from others. Her family and Team Jansson hope to add
potential donors to the national database Be The Match Registry®. More donors mean
more chances to find stem cell or bone marrow transplants. Patients like Adeline need one
and COVID has dramatically decreased the number of possible donors. We encourage
everyone between the ages of 18 to 44 to register and be a potential donor to help cure
childhood leukemia.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSH SCHROEDER,
MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
do hereby proclaim, December 15, 2020
CELEBRATE ADELINE JANSSON DAY
In Georgetown, Texas
