P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, during the month of October 2020, the city of Georgetown will join the American
Chiropractic Association in observing National Chiropractic Health Month; and
WHEREAS, chiropractors are physician-level providers who focus on the whole person in their
conservative approach to pain management and health care, and have expertise in the prevention, care and
rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions; and
WHEREAS, chiropractors recognize through research and clinical experience that a sedentary lifestyle
can diminish joint health, wellness and longevity; and
WHEREAS, physical activity not only helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes
and some cancers, it also strengthens bones and muscles and helps reduce the incidence of low back pain;
and
WHEREAS, the goal of the observance is to raise public awareness of the benefits of chiropractic care
and its natural, whole-person, patient-centered and drug-free approach to health and wellness and encourage
people to move more now so they will be able to move better later.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS,
join with the American Chiropractic Association and the Texas Chiropractic Association in promoting the
benefits of movement, good posture, healthy living and a nondrug approach to pain management with its
“Active and Adaptive” campaign by proclaiming October 2020 as
NATIONAL CHIROPRACTIC HEALTH MONTH
In Georgetown, Texas
