PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, community planning provides an opportunity for all residents to be
meaningfully involved in making choices that determine the future of their community; and
WHEREAS, the full benefits of planning require public officials and citizens who
understand, support, and demand excellence in planning and plan implementation; and
WHEREAS, the month of October is designated as National Community Planning
Month throughout the United States of America and its territories; and
WHEREAS, the celebration of National Community Planning Month gives us the
opportunity to publicly recognize the participation and dedication of the members of the
boards and commissions that support good community planning;
WHEREAS, The Planning Department has the privilege to support the City Council, as
well as the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z), the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA),
the Historic and Architectural Review Commission (HARC), the Unified Development Code
Advisory Committee (UDCAC) and the Housing Advisory Board (HAB), all who contribute
their time and expertise to the improvement of Georgetown.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSH SCHROEDER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TX,
do hereby proclaim October 2021 as
COMMUNITY PLANNING MONTH
In GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
