As many of you know, Georgetown’s vision is to be a caring community, honoring it’s past and innovating for the future. I extend my special thanks to the Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) for hosting this fine event and allowing the use of their facilities. We are honored to have all of the outstanding coaches attending both throughout the region as well as our local coaches. Events like this could not take place without the commitment and dedication of these giving people. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is devoted to cultivating Christian principles in local communities nationwide by encouraging, equipping and empowering others to serve as examples and to make a difference. Congratulations to all of the 90 graduating senior athletes nominated to participate in this game. Their ability and character have been recognized and celebrated. FCA core values include integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence. While in Georgetown, I encourage you to visit The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas which is home to a variety of restaurants and unique shops. Even though we’re the fastest-growing city in the nation, Georgetown has been able to maintain its small town charm. I also encourage you to get a bicycle (for free!) from our Visitors Center and ride along our award-winning hike and bike trail, which connects downtown to the 180-acre San Gabriel Park, and also leads to beautiful Lake Georgetown. Finally, every first-timer in Georgetown needs to visit Inner Space Caverns. Discovered during the construction of Interstate 35, Inner Space is one of the most well-preserved caves in Texas, and offers visitors a rare glimpse to what is hidden below the earth’s surface. Again, welcome to Georgetown, everyone, and have fun! Sincerely, Josh Schroeder, Mayor
