John Berry Chapter
District 5
Daughters of the Republic of Texas
Georgetown, Texas
Dear Daughters of the Republic of Texas,
Greetings District 5, including the John Berry Chapter, we are so honored to have you in
Georgetown today. Georgetown’s vision is “to be a caring community, honoring it’s past and
innovating for the future”. Your organization is definitely part of our history and our future.
Georgetown welcomes you to share in our traditions and make them part of yours. As your
ancestors and history are part of your lives, they are a part of ours too.
A stroll around our Square, can feel a little like walking back in time. As our shop owners and
neighbors greet you and each other with a smile and a “Good Morning!” you can feel the sense
of community. Take time to visit Grace Heritage Center and the Williamson Museum and you
might find one of your ancestors while you are there. I also encourage you to visit The Most
Beautiful Town Square in Texas which is home to a variety of restaurants and unique
shops. There are so many hidden treasures in our town, you might find just what you are
looking for.
We’re proud of the unique place we have created and can’t wait to share it with you. In
Georgetown, we welcome you to stay and enjoy Texas-sized culture and all we have to offer. I
hope you enjoy your time here and we look forward to seeing you on the Square as part of the
new, and the historic, Texas Families who have settled here. Whether you’ve come for the day
or are here to stay, “In Georgetown, you are more than welcome.”
Sincerely,
Josh Schroeder, Mayor
