HomeMy WebLinkAboutMunicipal Court Week_11.2022 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, recognizes the importance of Municipal Courts, the Rule of Law, and the fair and impartial administration of justice; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, operates the Municipal Court at 510 W. 9th Street, and is incredibly proud of our Municipal Court Administrator Debbie Landrum, our Juvenile Case Manager/Senior Deputy Court Clerk Tina Heine, Deputy Court Clerk Angelica Lombardi, Associate Deputy Court Clerk Erica Marroquin, Bailiff Officer Fred Pitcher, Prosecutor Lucas Wilson and the Presiding Judge of our Municipal Court Randy Stump; and WHEREAS, more people meet municipal courts than all other Texas courts and the public impression of the judicial system is largely dependent upon their experience with a municipal court; and WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is committed to the notion that our legal system is based on the principle that an independent, fair, and competent judiciary will interpret and apply the laws that govern us with integrity and impartiality; and WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas contain procedural safeguards in criminal cases for all defendants, including indigent defendants, and supports the complying with such legal requirements. NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSH SCHROEDER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby proclaim, the week of November 7-11, 2022, as MUNICIPAL COURT WEEK In Georgetown, Texas
