PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Boy Scout Troop 151 was founded in December 1922, chartered by
American Legion Post 174 in Georgetown, with Judge Same V. Stone as the first Scoutmaster;
and,
WHEREAS, Troop now has 46 registered Scouts and averages 600 hours of community
service annually. The Troop supports many city annual events to include the Juneteenth
celebration, 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, Memorial Day flag placement on Veterans graves in
IOOF Cemetery and city park clean ups; and
WHEREAS, in the last five years the Troop has earned the National Outdoor
Achievement Award and the Troop currently has several Scouts serving in leadership
positions at the District and Council levels.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSH SCHROEDER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby recognize Troop 141 for their 100th Anniversary and their
service to this community.
