HomeMy WebLinkAboutBilly Ray Stubblefied Proclamation_10.2014 PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, Billy Ray Stubblefield was elected to four consecutive four-year terms as the Williamson County Attorney from 1977 to 1992, serving longer than any County Attorney in Williamson County’s history; and WHEREAS, in November 1992 he was elected to the bench and sworn in as the Judge of the 26th District Court on January 1, 1993 and has served in that capacity until his retirement in October 2014; and WHEREAS, on February 12, 2010, Judge Stubblefield was sworn in as Presiding Judge of the Third Administrative Judicial District, one of nine such judges in the State of Texas; his appointment was made by Governor Perry and confirmed by the Texas State Senate; the Third District comprises an area the size of West Virginia, containing twenty-six counties; and WHEREAS, Judge Stubblefield obtained his public education from Georgetown ISD and his undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, receiving Southwestern Scholar designation; and WHEREAS, Judge Billy Ray Stubblefield has enriched our community in so many ways with his dedication and loyalty to the citizens of Williamson County NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, do hereby ask the citizens of Georgetown, Texas to honor JUDGE BILLY RAY STUBBELFIELD In Georgetown, Texas
