PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Vivian Wood moved to Georgetown in 1969 and has always been a devoted “public
servant”, contributing greatly to the fine community that the City of Georgetown and the County of
Williamson are today; and
WHEREAS, Vivian Wood was instrumental in the efforts to promote “Georgetown as a great place to
live and visit”; and
WHEREAS, Vivian Wood was first elected to the office of the Williamson County Treasurer in 1994
and took office January 1, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wood has been a Certified County Treasurer since 1995 and a Certified Investment
Officer for Williamson County since 1996; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wood was appointed to the TexPool Advisory Board by the Texas State
Comptroller, Carole Keeton Strayhorn in 2001; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Wood has served in all offices of the County Treasurers Association of Texas since
1996, as well as the President of the organization and has also served on the Texas Association of Counties
Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, Vivian Wood was awarded the 2004 Texas Outstanding County Treasurer designation
by the members of the County Treasurers Association of Texas; and
WHEREAS, Vivian Wood’s contributions to the City of Georgetown and the County of Williamson
are immeasurable and greatly appreciated; and
WHEREAS, Vivian Wood has enriched our community with her faithful service.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DALE ROSS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, do hereby proclaim December 10, 2014 as
VIVIAN WOOD DAY
