OJJ7�?4-5- 6 AN RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE WATER CONSERVATION REBATE PROGRAM PURSUANT TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN WATER CONSERVATION PLAN; REPEALING CONFLICTING RESOLUTIONS; INCLUDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that providing customer conservation rebates will help incentivize increased water conservation and increased efficiency in irrigation systems; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that adopting the Water Conservation Rebate Program will be in the best interest of the public and promote water conservation as set out herein. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: Section 1. The meeting at which this resolution was approved was conducted in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551. Section 2. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. Section 3. The Water Conservation Rebate Program attached hereto as Exhibit A is hereby adopted. Section 4. All resolutions that conflict with the provisions of this resolution are hereby repealed, and all other resolutions of the City not in conflict with the provisions of this resolution shall remain in full force and effect. Section 5. If any provision of this resolution, or application thereof, to any person or circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof, of this resolution, which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this resolution are hereby declared to be severable. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this resolution and the City Secretary to attest. This resolution shall become effective and be in full force and effect immediately in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Georgetown. Rebates are processed on a first -come, first -served basis while funding is available. Processing can take up to a month, and the rebate will appear as a credit on your water bill. Incomplete rebate forms will not be processed and will be returned. In the event an application will cause the applicant to receive $600 or more in total rebates for the calendar year, rebate applicants must submit a W-9 tax document via an email that will be sent from the City. No rebates will be processed until documents have been received and processed through Finance. Any applicant that receives $600 or more in total rebates will receive a 1099 for that tax year. Commercial Type Commercial -Rebates Maidmum Amounts Covers Native Landscaping Conversion $5,000 $100/100 sq ft Median Irrigation Removal or Conversion $1,000 $250/zone capping or $100/zone drip conversion Texas Grown Tree Rebate $1,000 Materials & Delivery Permanent Removal of Irrigation System Rebate $1,000 $200/zone Total Annual Rebate Allowance $10, 000 N/A Commercial customers are now eligible to participate in the rebate program. The rebate amounts are increased to accommodate the typically larger and more costly nature of these projects. The maximum combined total of rebates for commercial customer is $10,000. As part of the application process, an initial inspection may be conducted to assess the current state and feasibility of the project. After the project is completed, a follow-up inspection will be carried out to ensure that all work has been done in compliance with the specified requirements and standards.
