A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGE'COWN, TEXAS, DESIGNATING ONE MAILING
ADDRESS AND ONE ELECTRONIC MAILING ADDRESS FOR
PURPOSES OF RECEIVING PUBLIC INFORMATION
REQUESTS.
WHEREAS, 1he City Council recognize the need to effectively receive and legally
disseminate information about the affairs of government and the official acts of public officials
and employees; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 552.234, a governmental body that
posts the designated mailing address and electronic mailing address on its internet website is not
required to respond to written requests for public information unless the request is received at one
of those addresses, by hand delivery, or by an approved alternate delivery method; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 111219-C pursuant to Government
Code Section 552.234. to designate an electronic mailing address and mailing address to receive
public information requests; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has recently updated its website and electronic
mailing addresses which requires an update to the address to receive requests.
NOW THERIEFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN TEXAS:
Section 1. The meeting at which this resolution was approved was conducted in
compliance with the "i exas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.
Section 2. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this Resolution are hereby
found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly
made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, hereby designates the
following address as the electronic address for purpose of receiving requests for information
subject to Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code:
records@georgetowntexas.gov
Section 4. The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, hereby designates the
following address as the mailing address for purposes of receiving requests for public information
subject to Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code:

Section 5. The City Manager or his designee shall immediately post the above designated
mailing address and electronic mailing address on the City's internet website and shall provide the
designated mailing address and electronic mailing address to any person on request.
Section 6. Resolution No. 031318-D and all resolutions that conflict with the provisions
of this resolution are hereby repealed, and all other resolutions of the City not in conflict with the
provisions of this resolution shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 7. If any provision of this resolution, or application thereof, to any person or
circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or
application thereof, of this resolution, which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this resolution are hereby declared to be severable.
Section 8. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this resolution and the City Secretary to
attest. This resolutio:l shall become effective and be in full force and effect immediately in
accordance with the frovisions of the City Charter of the City of Georgetown.
