RESOLUTION NO. 12WZK-S:If A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, APPROVING THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN'S APPLICATIONS TO ; THE CAPITAL AREA METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S 2024 TRANSPORTATIONALTERNATIVES SET -ASIDE : AND CARBON REDUCTION PROGRAM CALL FOR PROJECTS AND THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN'S APPLICATIONS TO THE 2025 TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HIGHWAY SAFETY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) issued a call for projects in September 2024 for communities to apply for funding assistance through the Transportation Alternatives Set -Aside (TASA) Program and Carbon Reduction Program (CRP); and WHEREAS, the TASA funds may be used for development of preliminary engineering, including plans, specifications, and estimates and environmental documentation, and construction of pedestrian and/or bicycle infrastructure. Section 1. The meeting at which .:this resolution was approved was conducted in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter. 551, Section 2. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. Section 3. The City Council of the :City of Georgetown approves the submittal. of the following applications to the CAMPC's 2024 transportation alternatives set -aside and carbon reduction program :call for projects: (1) Austin Avenue corridor improvements and Downtown Square one -conversion (2) San. Gabriel Boulevard roundabout, (3) Accessible intersections, (4) FM 971 side paths, (5) Leander Road aide path, Resolution Number: 12 1 Z4 -$, 0 Page 2 of'3 Subject: "CAMPO TASA and CRP Grant Call and TxL}OT HSIP Date Approved: December 10, 2024" (6) Traffic detection upgrades (ITS) Section 4. The City Council of the City of Georgetown approves the submittal of the following applications to TxDOT's Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP)? (1) County Road 245 at Williams Drive, (2) Lakeway at Northwest Boulevard, (3) Stadium Drive at Northeast Inner Loop. Section 5.'The City Council of the City of Georgetown further resolves to support funding the projects as described in the applications and to commit to the development, implementation, construction, maintenance, management, and financing of the projects. If any of the projects are awarded funding through CAMPO's 2024 transportation alternatives set -aside and carbon reduction program or through TxDOT's Highway Safety Improvement Program, the City of Georgetown is willing and able to enter into an agreement with CAMPO and TxDOT by resolution or ordinance. Section 6. If any provision of this resolution, or application thereof, to any person or circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions, or application thereof, of this resolution, which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this resolution are hereby declared to be severable.
