HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 12.10.1907 - Salaries for City OfficersJ'N ORDITTANCE FIXING THE SALARIED FEES AND COMMISSIONS OF THE OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, TO BE ELECTED IN APRIL,1907. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of George- town, Texas, that: -- Sec. 1.-The Marshal and Street Commissioner shall receive for his services .as such Marshal the sum of Thirty-five ($35.00) Dollars per month as compensation therefor, and as compensation for his services as Street C' missior_eri. the sum of Fifteen ($15f Dollars per month, both payable monthly. He shall further receive such fees in criminal cases as are now provided by laic in all cases in which he may be entitled to fees in the Corporation Court. Sec. 2.-The Assessor and Collector shall receive as compen- cation for his services the sum of five (5) per cent on the Gener- al and Street fund, and bnd '(1) per cent of the other funds, on the total amount of his rolls of assessment after the same have been made up and 4tcepted by the Board of Equalization of said City, and said City's Council, as compensation for such assessment, and he shall receive as compensation for the collection of said taxes the sum of five (5) per cent on all the ad valorem, taxes in the General and Street funds so collected by him, the same to be payable monthly at any time after it becomes due. Sec. 3.-The City Secretary shall receive as compensation for his services the sum of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars per year, payable monthly, and he shall further receive all fees allowed him by law in the Corporation Court of the City of Georgetown. Sec. 4.-The City Attorney shall receive as compensation for his services the sum of Five ($5.00) Dollars in each case in the Corporation Courtin which a plea of guilty is entered, and the sum of Ten ($10.00) Dollars for every conviction in said Court in which a plea of not guilty is entered and a trial results in a conviction, these amounts, however, are not to coarse out of the City except where the fine is worked out on the streets and then only one half is to be paid, but are to be paid by the defendant as is governed by the law regulating the Corporation Courts of this State, and is to receive such other compensation as the City Council may from time to time allow. Sec. 5.-The Treasurer of the City of Georgetown shall re- ceive as compensation for his services the sum of Fifty ($50 00) Dollars per year, payable monthly. Sec. 6.-Each of the three Aldermen to be elected on said date shall receive as compensation for their services the sum of Three ($3.00) Dollars for each meeting of the Council attended.
