WHEREAS by Chepter XCVI, Section 2 of the General Laws of Texas passed by the Thirtieth Legislat_:re, page 193, it is provided among other things that no automobile or motor vehile shall be driven or operated upon a public road, street or driveway within the builtup portions of any city, town or village, the limits of which shall be fixed by the municipal officers thereof, at a greater rate 'of speed then eight miles an hour; Now therefore, for the purpose of fixing; such limits so as to put said eight; mile: an hour limit of speed in effect in the city of Georgetown, Texas,, Be it Ordained b,r the City Council of the Cit-,T of George- town, Texas: -- That the limits irlthli tc-hhich an automobile or motor ve- hicle shall not be driven or operated upon any public road, street or driveway within the City of George.town as provided in Chapter XCVI, Section 2, of the General Lags of Texas page 193 passed by the Thirtieth Legisla.turt- of the state of Texas are hereby fixed so as to include all the public roads, Q streets and drivevda-Ts within the corporate limits of the City of Georget o� ,qn, provided that said sppeed limit shall not apl)ly to racy: coi;rses or s- eed--aays.
