The City Council met in special session on the above date at
7:00 PM with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following
Councilmen and Officials were present: Eb C. Girvin, Carl
Doering, Marvin Lackey, Bill Connor, William C. Shell, City
Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary Jim Colbert, Public Works
Director W. L. Walden, Tax/Finance Director Barbara Raney and
Planner Renee Hanson.
Award Bids - Motion by Doering and seconded by Connor to award the bid on
Gas Mower a gas powered mower to Goldthwaite's of Texas, Inc. for $7,800.00.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Award Bid - Motion by Doering and seconded by Connor to award the bid on
16 -inch Water laying approximately 1,200 feet of 16 -inch water line to G & H
Line General Contractors for $24,974.00. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
Keep Georgetown
Motion by Shell and seconded by Connor to authorize Keep George -
Best - Airport
town Best to submit a break-even bid to the Federal Aviation
Administration for a Flight Control Center at the Airport. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
Ordinance - Hotel-
Motion by Connor and seconded by Lackey to approve on first
Motel Tax, lst
reading an ordinance amending Article 5, Section 16-71 of the
reading
City Code by increasing the room occupancy Lax from 4% to 7%.
Motion carried by unanimous vote.
South Water
Motion by Connor and seconded by Doering to authorize the Soutli-
Project
side Water and Wastewater Improvements, including South Pine
Street Fire Protection, Highland Drive Sanitary Sewer and South-
side Water Improvements. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Freese -Nichols is to have plans and specifications ready to b1A
by September. 1, 1983. The project should be complete by June 1, 1984
Southwest Service
Motion by Lackey and seconded by Doering to authorize the purchose
Area
and installation of an additional pump and piping at the Thousand
Oaks Booster Station to increase the capacity to approximatley
1150 g.p.m. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Motion by Connor and seconded by Lackey to remove all restrictions
on issuing building permits in the San Gabriel Heights Area provided:
(1) no water connections shall be made before October 1, 1983, and;
(2) no plats shall be approved until. bids on the South Water Project
have been received and opened. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Executive Session
At this time Mayor Doerfler announced that the City Council would
convene in executive session as provided by Article 6252-17,
V.T.C.S. Following the executive session the meeting was again
opened to the public.
Budget Workshop No action was taken on this matter.
Adjourn There being no further business, on a motion by Lackey and
seconded by Connor the meeting adjourned.
