HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 12.17.1928 - Salaries for OfficersAN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GBORGETOWN9 TEXAS, FIXING THE SALARIES, FEES AND• COhISSIONS TO BE PAID THE OFFICERS OF THE SAID CITY THAT ARE TO BE ELECTED AT THE REGULAR CITY ELECTION TO BE HBLD IN AND FOR THE SAID CITY ON THE FIRST TLIE'SDA:Y IN AFRIL A.D. 1929. BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the said City of Georgetown, Texas. Section 1. That the City Marshal of the said City shall receive as compensation for his services a salary of Fifty ($50.00) Dollars per month, payable monthly; and in addition thereto, such fees in criminal -cases in the Corporation Court as are nowq or may hereafter be provided by law for like officers in like courts. Section 2. That the City Secretary (City Clerk) of the City shall receive, as compensation for his services, a salary of Eight (; Dollars and thirty three and one-third cents per month =wJable monthly; and in addition thereto all such fees in criminal cases in the Corporation Court of said city as are now, or'may hereafter be provided by law for such officers in such courts. Section 3. That the City Assessor and Collector of the said City shall receive as compensation for his services in assessing the taxes of the said City, 5% on the General Fund and 5% on the Street Fund, and 1% on all other funds, on the total amount of his assessment rolls, after they have been up and accepted by the Board of Equalization of the said Ci1l'yq and by the City Council of the said city; and he shall receive 5% on all moneys collected for the General Fund and 5 on all col- lected for the Street Fund, and 1% on all moneys collected for any of the other funds. That the said compensation is to be paid monthly as the said collections are made and reported. Section 4. That the City Treasurer of the said City shall receive, as compensation for his services, a salary of Twelve Dollars and Fifty cents ($12.50) per month, payable monthly. i C%of C�rc}c Wax Ord neu�ee5 t4l �2-ll I I28 Section 5. That each of the three Aldermen to be elected on the said date, shall receive a -salary of Four .($4.00) Dollars for each and every meeting of the City - Council attended by such Alderman, same to be paid as each such metting attended. Section 6. The near approach of the April election creates an imperative public necessity that the rule re- quiring ordinances to be read at three separate -meetings -be suspended, and this ordinance be and the same is hereby passed under such rules as is required in s.ich cases.
