HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 11.03.1965 - Annexation Ordinance470 �d ANNEXATION ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE XNN-EXING THE IfEld-�INAFTER DESCRIBED Tr�It1tITO?1Y TO THE CITY OFGL'OItGET01VNT, 1i'ILLI_ ,,lSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDTNG'THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID IIEREINAFTIM DE- SCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN TIIE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTI- ING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO A41, INIIAIIITANTS , PRESENT AND FUTURE, OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF ALL OTHER CITIZEN'S AND BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL TIIE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY AND CONTAINING EMERG1 NCY CLAUSE: 101M AS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknow- ledged by each and every person having an interest in the hereinafter describ- ed property and territory; and, MIEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the City of Georgetown, Texas, and is not more than one-half mile in width; and, MIE11LEAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 28th' day of October, 1965, such date being not less than five nor more than thirty days from the date hereof; and, 12IEIZAS, after hearing such petition and arguments for and against same the City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said territory to the City of Georgetown, Texas: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that the following described property, to -wit: Parcel No. 1: BEGINNING AT A POINT IN THE EAST IIIG11T OF WAY OF Interstate Highway- 35, opposite Survey Station 734+00; and, TIIENCE N 26* 45' E, along said east right of way for a distance of 2094.8 feet; and, TIMNICE S 63* 15' E, a distance of 302 feet to a point in the east right of way of existing U.S. Highway 81; and, Thence N 16* 55' E, along said existing right of way, a distance of 460 feet; and, TIIENCE N 63* 15' 1V, along a line that passes through Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 708+50.8, for a distance of 689.6 feet to a point being in the west right of way of Interstate Highway 35; and, THENCE in a southwesterly direction along said west right of way, which is on a curve having a radius of 1095.9 feet for a distance of 441.1 feet to a point which is the Y.T.; and, TIIE'NCE S 26* 45' IV, along said west right of way for a distance of 2013.4 feet; and, THENCE S 23* 48.7' 19, along said west right of way for a distance of 107.2 feet; and, THENCE S 63* 15' E, along a line that passes through Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 734+00 for a distance of 350 feet to a point in the east right of way of Interstate Highway 35, which is the point of beginning. Parcel No. 2: BEGINNING at a point in the east right of way of Interstate Highway 35, opposite Survey Station 979+00; and, TIIENCE S 18* 27.3' TV, along said east right of way line for a distance of 495 feet; and, TIIENCE s 08* 27.5' W, along said east right of way for a distance of 668.5 feet; and, THENCE S L** 27.3' IV, along said east right of way for a distance of 1519.8 feet; and, THENCE N 71* 32.7' W, along a line, being the new South City Limits of Georgetown, T xas, that passes through Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 1005+00 or a distance of 400 feet to a point in the west right of way of Interstate highway 35; and, TIUNCE N 18* 27.3' E, along said west right of way line, a distance of 1169.4 feet to a point being the P.T. of a curve; and, THENCE in a northeasterly direction along said west right of way being on a curve having a radius of 1859.9 feet for a distance of 1042.3 feet to a point which is a P. R. C.; and, THENCE in a northwesterly direction along said west right of way being on a curve having a radius of 724.1 feet for a distance of 241.2 feet; and, TIENCE N 06* 29.3' E, along said west right of way line for a distance of 94 feet; and, THENCE S 87* 48' E, along a, line that passes through Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 979+00, for a distance of 710 feet to a point in the east right of way of Interstate Highway 35, which is the point of beginning, be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Georgetown, Texas, Williamson County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within the City Limits of the City of Georgetown, T`'xas, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said city, and said land, and the present and future inhabitants thereof, shall hereafter be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of this City. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the County Clerk of Williamson County, Texas, a certified copy of this ordinance. The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three separate meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
