HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 04.11.1966 - Another Amendment to Zoning Ordinance TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEOR.GETOWN An amendment to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on September 21, 1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment a part of the map of the original ordinance; to change the hereinafter described property located in Block 3 of the Snyder Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texas, from "R-1," One Family Dwelling District to "R-2," Duplex and Apartment District, as here- inafter set forth. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas; WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate; All that certain tract or parcel of land lying and being situated in the City of Georgetown, Texas, described as follows: BEING part of Block 3 of the Snyder Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texas, BEGINNING at a point in the S. line of said Block, 72 ft. West of the S.E. Corner thereof; THENCE North, parallel with the East line of said Block, 84 feet; THENCE East, parallel with the South line of said Block, 72 feet; THENCE North with the East line of said Block, 66 feet; THENCE West, parallel with the South line of said Block, 8* feet; THENCE South, parallel with the East line of said Block, 30 feet; THENCE West, parallel with the South line of Said Block, 172 feet; THENCE South, parallel with the East line of said Block, 120 feet; THENCE East, with the South line of said Block, 28 feet to the place of beginning, and being part of the property described in a deed from L. M. Keeling, et al, to Henry E. Meyer, dated May 3, 1930, recorded in Vol. 251, Page 564, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas; AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above -described property from "R-1," One -Family Dwelling District to "R-2," Duplex and Apartment District, which said meeting was held on March 15, 1966; and WHEREAS, the City Council, before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance, gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same three times in the Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than 15 days from the first day of such publication; and h WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the Zoning Ordinance, and no protest was entered against the proposed change; and WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots within 200 feet of the above -described property as required by law, and no protest having been filed by any of the property owners within 200 feet of said property; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the property described above shall be ,and the same is hereby removed from "R-1," a One -Family Dwelling District, to "R-2", Duplex and Ajart- ment District. The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading and adoption. McMaster STATE OF TEXAS COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON Petition No. 4 'WHEREAS, the undersigned, owner of one (1) parcel of land contiguous and adjacent to the present boundary line of the City of Georgetown, Texas, said parcel of land not exceeding one-half (2l mile in width and further being vacant and without residents, in accordance with Section 974g of VATS hereby petition the Governing Body of the City of Georgetown, Texas, to accept the said parcel of land within its corporate boundaries that it may receive all the benefits and privileges of being a part of the City of Georgetown, Texas; and WHEREAS, a map of the area is attached hereto and marked as Exhibit "A", the said parcel of land being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: Parcel No. 1 BEGINNING AT a point in the east right of way of existing U.S. Highway 81, opposite Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 708=50.8; and THENCE N 16*55' E, along said existing east right of way, a distance of 950.8 feet to a point of intersection with the east right of way of Interstate Highway 35; and THENCE N 21*51' E, along said east right of way, a distance of 480 feet; and THENCE N 26*45' E, along said east right of way, a distance of 1206.8 feet; and THENCE N 67*49' W, along a line that passes through Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 682=50, for a distance of 466.40 feet to a point in the west right of way line of Interstate Highway 35. This line being the new North City 49 Limits of Georgetown, Texas; and THENCE southwesterly along said west right of way which is on a curve, having a radius of 11,409.2 feet for a distance of 1217.7 feet to a point which is a P.C.C.; and THENCE southwesterly along said west right of way which is on a curve, having a radius of 1095.9 feet for a distance of 441.1 feet to a point which is a P.R.C?; and THENCE S 63*150 E, along a line that passes through Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 708=50.8, for a distance of 689.6 feet to a point being in the existing east right of way of U.S. Highway 81, which is the point of beginning.
