ANNEXATION ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIA SON
COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS
OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DE-
SCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING
TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL INHABITANTS, PRESENT
AND FUTURE,'OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF.THE RIGHTS .AND
PRIVILEGES OF ALL OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID
INHABITANTS BY ALL THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF SAID
CITY AND CONTAINING EMERGENCY CLAUSE:
WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledg-
ed by each and every person having an interest in the hereinafter described
property and territory; and,
WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the City
of Georgetown, T e xas, and is not more than one-half mile in width; and,
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the llth
day of April, 1966, such date being not less than five nor more than thirty
days from the date hereof; and,
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and arguments for and against
same the City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said
territory to the City of Georgetown, TExas:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, T xas, that the following described property, to -wit:

BEGINNING at a point in the east right of way of existing U.S. Highway
81, opposite Interstate Highway 35, Survey Station 708 + 50.8; and
THENCE N 16 deg. 55' E, along said existing east right of way, a dis-
tance of 950.8 feet to a point of intersection with the east right of way
of Interstate Highway 35; and
THENCE N 21 deg. 51' E, along said east right of way, a distance of
480 feet; and
THENCE N 26 deg. 45 E, along said east right of way, a distance of
1206.8 feet; and
THENCE N 67 deg. 49' W, along a line that passes through Interstate
Highway 35, Surtrey Station 682 + 50, for a distance of 466.40 feet to a point
in the west right of way line of -Interstate Highway 35. This line being the
new North City Limits of Georgetown, Texas; and
THENCE southwesterly along said west right of way which is on a curve
having a radius of 11,409.2 feet for a distance of 1217.7 feet to a point which
is a P.C.C.; and
THENCE isbutK*4'sterly along said west right of -way which is on a curve,
having a radius of 1095.9 feet for a distance of 441.1 feet to a point which_
is a P.R.C.; and
THENCE S 63 deg. 15' E, along a line that passes through Interstate
Highway 35, Survey Station 708 + 50.R, for a distance of 689.6 feet to a point
being in the existing east right of way of U.S. Highway 81, which is the Point
of Beginning,
be and the same is hereby annexed to the Citv of Georgetown, Williamson County,
Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be and
the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within
the City Limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the satire shall hereafter
be included within the territorial limits of said city, and said land, and the
present and future inhabitants thereof. shall hereafter be entitled to all
the riffhts and privileges of other citizens of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of this City.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the County Clerk of
Williamson County, Texas, a certified copy of this ordinance.
The importance of this ordinance creates an emergency and an i-npera-
tive public necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three
several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the or-
dinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its adoption.
PASSED by an affirmative vote of all the members of the City Council
this the llth day of April, A.D. 1966.
