HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 11.13.1967 - Zoning Ordinance AmendmentAMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE 01' THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN An amendment to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on September 21, 1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment a part of the map of the original ordinance; to change the hereinafter described real estate in said'City from "R-1", Local Retail District, as hereinafter set forth. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate: BEING part of Block 70, Lost Addition to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, 112.1 feet by 60 feet in size, being the same property described in a deed recorded in Vol. 441, Page 673, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the 'Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "R-1", One Family Dwelling District, to "B-1", Local Retail District, which said meeting was held on October 17, 1967; and, WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing be publishing the same three times in the Williamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first day of such publication; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the ehahge aforesaid in the Zoning Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the proposed change; and, WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots within two hundred (200) feet of the above described property, as required by law; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the property above described shall be and the same is hereby removed from "lt-1", One Family Dwelling District, to "B-1" Local Retail District. The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate pres- ervation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading and adop- tion.
