AMMTDMENT TO THE ZOTvING ORDI14XCE OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETO11N
An amendment .to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on September 21,
1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment a
part of the map of the original ordinance to change the hereinafter
described real estate in said -City from "R -1", One Family Dwelling
District to "R-2", Duplex and Apartment District, as hereinafter set
forth.
Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
Texas:
VvH 'REAS, an application has been made to the I:ity Council for
the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following des-
cribed reak estate:
BEING,the North 1/2 of block No. 33 of the Snyder Addition to
the City of Georgetown, Killiamson County, Texas, being the same
property conveyed by Ruth Conaway, et al to ?.Iinnie Thwing, by deed
recorded in Vol. 285, Page 220, Deed Records of 1�illiamson County,Texas.
A"1D -'viHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change
in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its re-
commendation and report; and,
1uHB'REAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing
of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "R-1", a
one Family Dwelling District, to "R-2", Duplex and 1partment District,
which said meeting was held on August 18, 1964; and,
!,rEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the
Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same
three times in the 1dlliamson County Sun, a weekly newspaper in the City
of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such
hearin; and which time was not earlier than 15 days from the first day of
such publication; and,
_4HERRAS, the City Planning Conunission approved the change aforesaid
in the Zoning Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the proposed
change ; and,

WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots
within 200 feet of the above described property, as required by law;
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown that the Zoning Ordinance', and the Zoning ?Rap of the City
of Georgetown be amended so that the property described above shall be
and the same is hereby removed from "R-1", One Family Dwelling District,
to "R-2", Duplex and Apartment District.
The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate
preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily
operation of the municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency
measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading
and adoption.
Read, passed and adopted by unanimous vote, this the 24th day of
August, 1964.
