HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 03.08.1965 - Amending the Zoning OrdinanceAMENDWINT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN An amendment to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on September 21, 1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment a part of the map of the original ordinance; to change the hereinafter described real estate in said City from "R-111, One Family Dwelling District, to " B-2", Commercial District, as here- inafter set forth. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate: TRACT 'I BEING Lots 1, 2 and 3 in'Block No. 7, Gabriel Heights Addition to the City of Georgetown, Texas, as shown in Vol. 4, Page 25, Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas. TRACT II: BEING a part of the N. Porter Survey, Abstract No. 497, in 'Williamson County, Texas, and part of a tract of 371.96 acres described in a partition deed, dated February 4, 1956, from 4ayne Douglas 'Williams to Irene ''%Iilliams Parker, of record in Vol. 910, Page 25, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. BEGINNING at a point on the West right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 35, said point being 930 feet N 38 deg. 00' E from a point where the West right of way at Interstate Highway No. 35 intersects the diagonal North right of way line of Ranch Road No. 2338, said point of beginning also being the point where the North boundary line of Clay Street in the Gabriel Heights Addition to the City of Georgetown intersects said ,Jest right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 35; THENCE N 38 deg. 00'. E, 79.2 feet to a break in the West right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 35; THENCE N 29 deg. 18' E along the west right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 35, 1200 feet; THE,NOE at right angle to West right of way of Interstate High- way No. 35, N 60 deg. 42' W. 200 feet to a point; THENCE S 29 deg. 18' E and parallel to the 'vest right of way line of Interstate Highway No. 35 to a point where this line intersects the North boundary line of the before mentioned Clay Street; THENCE S 52 deg. 00' E along the North boundary line of Clay Street to the POINT OF BEGINNING. AND WHER AS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and, *_4 WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from "R-1", One Family Dwelling District, to "B-2", Commercial District, which said meeting was held on February 16, 1965; and, WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same three times in the Williamson County Sun, a weekly news- paper in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first day of such publication; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the Zoning Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the proposed change; and, WHEREAS, written notices were _iven to all of the owners of lots within 200 feet of the above described property, as required by law; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the pro-erty above described shall be and the same is hereby removed from "R-1", One Family Dwelling District, to "B-211, Commercial District. The enactment of this ordiance being necessary to the immediate preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect following its present reading and adoption.
