HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 03.14.1966 - Amending the Zoning Ordinance487 AMENDMENT -TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN An amendment to the ordinance of the City of Georgetown, !xas, amending the Zoning Ordinance which went into effect on :ptember 21, 1961, amending the Zoning District Map and making this amendment -a part of the map of the original ordinance; to change the hereinafter described real estate in said City from "R-1", One Family Dwelling District, to "B-2", Commercial District, as hereinafter set forth. Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real estate: BEING 1.64 acres of the N.'Porter Survey, Abst. No 497 in Williamson County, Texas, and being part of Tract Three conveyed to Burness Emzy Williams, and part of Tract Two conveyed to C. Earl Becknell, in a subdivision of a 5 acre tract by Annie E. Williams, said part of Tract Three conveyed by Burness Emzy Williams to Noel Daniels by deed of record in Vol. 468j#age 351, and said part of Tract Two conveyed by C. Earl Becknell to Noel Daniels by deeds of record in Vol. 467, Page 662, and Vol. 470, Page 688, Deed Records, Williamson County, Texas, described in one tract as follows: BEGINNING at an iron pin near a fence corner post at the SE corner of Tract Two and the NE corner of Tract Three. THENCE S 43 deg. 15' W with the North West RoW line of U.S. Highway No. 81, 160.1 feet to a concrete ROW monument. THENCE S 89 deg. 30' W 84 feet to a concrete ROW monument in the North ROW line of Ranch to Market Road No. 2338. THENCE N 54 deg. 45' W with said ROW line 158 feet to another ROW monument. THENCE N 0 deg. 30' w with the East ROW line of Interstate Highway No. 35, at 60 feet cross the North line of Tract Three and the South line of Tract Two, in all 282 feet to another ROW monument at or near the NW corner of the 5 acre tract and the NW corner of Tract Two. THENCE N 89 deg. 45' E with a fence, 88.5 feet to a monument at the NW corner of Tract One of said subdivision. THENCE South 42 feet to a monument THENCE South 64 deg. E. 71 feet to a monument. THENCE South 0 deg. 45' E 81.4 feet to a monument at the NW corner of the tract described in Vol. 470, Page 688. I THENCE S 66 deg. 30' E 128.8 feet to an iron pin and S 46 deg. 45' E 75 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. AND WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning Commission for its recommendation and report; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property g 8 8 P �-J ,71 from "R-1", One Family Dwelling District, to "B-2 ", Commercial District, which said meeting was held on February 22, 1966; and, WHEREAS, the City Council before adopting this amendment to the Zoning Ordinance gave notice of such hearing by publishing the same three times in the Willlamson County Sun, a weekly news- paper in the City of Georgetown, Texas „ which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the first day of such publication; and, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission approved the change aforesaid in the Zoning Ordinance; and no protest was entered against the proposed change; and, WHEREAS, written notices were given to all of the owners of lots within two hundred (200) feet of the above described property, as required by law; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that the Zoning Ordinance, and the Zoning Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the property above described shall be and the same is hereby removed from "R-1, One Family Dwelling District, to "B-2", Commercial District. The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the im- mediate preservation of public business and to provide for the usual daily operation of the municipal department, it is declared to be an emergency measure, which shall have and take effect follow- ing its present reading and adoption.
