HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 71-12 - Zoning Ordinance241, AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE AN AMENDMENT TO THE "ZONING ORDINANCE" PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN ON OCOTOBER 13, 1969; AMENDING THE ZONING DISTRICT MAP: AMENDING SAID ZONING ORDINANCE AND SAID DISTRICT MAP BY CHANGING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE BURNHAM ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, FROM I, INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT, TO C-2-A, COMMERCIAL FIRST HEIGHT DISTRICT, AS HERE- INAFTER SET FORTH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of changing the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning District Map on the following described real estate: All those certain lots, tracts or parcels of land lying and being situated in -the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, -Texas, described as follows: BEING Lots Nos. 19 and 20, Burnham Addition to the City of George- town, Williamson County, Texas, and being part of the property conveyed by R. H. Fleming, et ux, to Robert Burnham, 202, Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas; and WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the proposed change in the Zoning Ordinance to the City Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation and report; and WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the changing of said Zoning Ordinance on the above -described property from I, Industrial District, to C-2-A, Commercial First Height District, after said Commission met and considered such matter on March 16, 1971: and WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing regarding such amendment to the Zoning Ordinance before the City Planning and Zoning Commission was given by publishing the same in the Williamson County Sun, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which time was not earlier than fifteen days from the date of such publication; AND, WHEREAS, written notices of the proposed change and of' the public hearing before the City Planning and Zoning Commission were given to all of the owners of all real property as required by law, and all protests have been heard and considered: NOW, THEREFORE, BE_IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN that the Zoning Ordinance and the District Map of the City of Georgetown be amended so that the property described above shall be,'and the same is hereby, changed from I, Industrial District, to C-2-A, Commercial First Height District. The enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the immediate preservation of public business, it is hereby declared to be an emergency measure which shall be and take effect following its present reading and adoption. , PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote, this the 22nd day of March, 1971.
