HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 71-13 - Annexing Ordinance242 ANNEXING ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS,.AND GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE SAID CITY. WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation having an interest in the foll wing des- cribed territory, to -wit: - BEING 47.75 acres of land lying South of the South City Limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and being out of the Lewis J. Dyches Survey, Abstract No. 180, the F. A. Hudson Survey, Abstract No. 295, and the John Powell Survey, Abstract No. 491, in Williamson County, Texas. BEGINNING at a point on the existing South City Limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, said point being on the East Hight -of -Way line of Interstate Highway No. 35 and being S 710 32' 42" E, 200 feet from Engineer's centerline station 1006+00; THENCE with the East right-of-way line as follows: S 180 27' 18" W, 1309.5 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left; THENCE 1192.1 feet along the arc of a curve whose radius is 11,259.158 feet and whose central angle is 60 03' 58" to a point 200 feet -left of Engineer's centerline station 1,030 + 22.27; THENCE S 120 23' 18" W, 1113.86 'f eet to the beginning of a curve to the left; THENCE 1536.59 feet along the arc of a curve whose radius is 11,259.158 feet and whose central angle is 70 49' 10" to a point 200 feet left of Engineer's centerline station 1057 + 00; THENCE N 850 25' 52" W, 400 feet throught said Engineer's centerline station 1057 + 00 to a point on the West Bight -of -Way line of Interstate Highway No. 35; THENCE with the West Right -of -Way line as follows: 1591.18 feet along the arc of a curve to the right whose radius is 11,659.158 feet and whose central angle is 60 03' 58" to a point 200 feet right of Engineer's centerline station 1018+09.05; THENCE N 180 27' 18" E, 1309.5 feet to a point on the existing South city Limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and on the West right-of-way line of Interstate Highway No.35, this point being 200 feet right of Engineer's centerline station 1005 + 00; THENCE S 710 32" 42" E, 400 feet along the said South City Limits line to the PLACE OF BEGINNING. WHEREAS, said tract df land is contiguous and adjacent to the City of George- town, Texas, and is not more than one-half (2) mile in width, and WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 22nd day of March, 1971, such date being not less than 5 and not more than 30 days from the date hereof, and WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments for and against the same the City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said territory to the City of Georgetown, Texas; NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas: That the foregoing described property be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within the City Limits of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and 243 the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said city, and said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said city. The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the County Clerk of Georgetown, Texas, Williamson County, a certified copy of this ordinance.
